The Rally Tournament Track
Dar Es Salaam,Tuk Tuk Rally Festival is an annual adventurous auto rickshaw rally tournament taking place for the first time in Tanzania. 1,000 tuk-tuks auto ricksahws, 110km covered through different terrains (beaches, hills, valleys, swamps) across two regions (Dar es Salaam and Pwani) uncovering their beauty; From the beautiful beaches of Kigamboni, to the swamps of Kimbiji, to the green rice fields of Buuni, to plains of Tundwi Songani and eventually the magical reserve forest of Vikindu where will end with an EPIC party with DJ/Live Music, great food & drinks and delicious vibes! Also, event entertainment includes dance, art and craft as well as sports trade stands, club displays and a fun fair.

Tournament Schedule for Tuk Tuk Rally Festival 2023 - Dar Es Salaam
This is a two-day rally tournament permitted multi-venue event featuring stages at the beautiful beaches of Kigamboni plus dusk stages at Vikundi Reserve Forest. The Tuk-tuk Rally tournament will feature up to 2000 tuk-tuks to take on an adventurous race track with a festival atmosphere created for all the family.

Education
We will conduct a training and give education to all participants on road safety and finacial management including insurance policies.
Training
We’ll finish up drive training and the tuk-tuk rally tournament track inspection, the participants will learn on the rules, direction and do a test drive
Mix and Mingle
We give opportunity for all riders to race each other and showcase their driving skills in a small closed area – SPECIAL STAGE. This unique opportunity will be open for the photographers and journalists to snap some shots of all the riders messing about having a good time, mix and mingle at the start party!
Tuk-tuk Service
We conduct full vehicle services which includes inspections, maintenance and/or repairs to ensure that your bajaji is running safely and efficiently such as checking the brakes, suspension, steering, exhaust, oil, fluids, and lights: All the mechanics, staff and pit crew working hard to get everything prepared and ready for tomorrow.

What is a Tuk tuk?
Ah, the humble Tuk-Tuk. The ride so nice they named it twice. They’ve got three wheels (don’t ask us why), an open frame, a canvas roof with drop down sides, a cabin for the driver and two seats in the back. Oh, and an engine: a 4-stroke beast that is probably slightly more powerful than a horse. Tuk-Tuks have a few advantages: they’re durable, easy to use and very forgiving. They’ll happily handle almost any surface, climate or level of abuse. Their cruising speed is a tasty 35kph (22mph). Their cruising altitude is about one foot. Warning: Tuk-Tuks can easily roll and flip if not handled correctly. We take safety really seriously on these challenges, and you should know there are inherent risks involved, including potentially life- threatening situations.

- The main break is actioned by your right foot
On the first day of the event, everyone is required to attend a mandatory tuk tuk driving induction and safety training session (this means you). You’ll get enough lots of time to practice before hitting the road. A rickshaw is a cross between a car and a scooter, so clutch control is key. If you ́ve driven a scooter or motorbike before, it’ll be a breeze.

How many people per team ?
A team is made up of either 2 or 3 people. Apparently, there is no ‘I’ in it. You get one Tuk-Tuk per team.

What do the winners get?
Many teams will compete, but only one will be crowned TukTuk Rally Festival champion! Will it be you?
Awards will be given to the 6 fastest teams including Champion, 1stRunner-up, 2ndRunner-up, 3rdRunner-up, 4thRunner-up and 5thRunner-up. Also, we will have Best Cheering Team Awards and Top Donation Achiever Award. They’ll also have eternal bragging rights and know that they were the biggest contributors to our charity event. It’s worth remembering that the Tuk-tuk Rally Festival is just that – a challenge. The Tuk-tuk Rally Festival is not a race. Speed should not be your priority. If anything should be, it’s probably fun.
Yes, you’ve got to be at least 18 years old in order to compete. You are never too old for adventure. We don’t have a maximum age, but if you’re over 65 we definitely recommend checking with your insurer to make sure you qualify for the medical insurance you’ll need to take part. The Challenge is pretty physically tough – we won’t sugar-coat it. You should really only take part if you’re in good physical shape and your health is A-Okay.
